MOVE NL
Many movement festivals or workshops focus on developing individual skills and practices. However, with MOVE NL, our emphasis is on a different dimension: fostering connection, human interaction, and a spirit of playfulness. We aim to delve into the journey of becoming a better human being. We aim to erase the boundaries between teachers and students. We aim to move better. We aim to substitute me with we.
Our vision is to recalibrate our minds to embrace a state of playfulness and to dive deep into human connection and interaction.
Origin of Move NL
Over the past decade, our summers were defined by our trip to MOVE COPENHAGEN. We initially joined as participants, later transitioning into roles as teachers. Within its vibrant community, we found a sense of unity and belonging unmatched by any other experience. Stepping into MOVE COPENHAGEN felt like entering a close-knit village. Everything was provided in-house. While free to explore outside the boundaries of this little village, returning to it felt like coming home, despite having just met our fellow participants.
The festival revolved around the essence of the human body – a shared passion for movement and an inquisitive mindset towards exploring it. Our common ground extended to a shared appreciation for touch, valuing its significance in our lives. From contact improvisation to playful sparring, Thai yoga massage to heartfelt embraces, the normalization of touch within the community enriched our collective experience.
After a decade of remarkable moments, MOVE COPENHAGEN reached its conclusion. The organizers moved on, marking the end of an era. Yet, every conclusion paves the way for a new beginning.
Motivated by our experiences, we, Erwin and Virgil, felt compelled to carry forth the legacy of MOVE COPENHAGEN. We have embarked on a journey to create a new haven, our own intimate “village”, where our tribe can gather every year and feel at home for the next decade. Join us in this adventure, as we create a space where the love for sports, movement, and genuine connection converges into a festival that transcends boundaries and creates lasting memories. Welcome to MOVE NL!

Location
Expect luxury in connections, not in the location. We adhere to a minimalistic approach to leave room for us to fill the spaces. The dojo is a cozy walled off playground for Movement. It will have everything you need as a home and all we need to do is add connection and laughter.
The Dojo has a main building with a dormitory (housing up to 20 people), 4 bedrooms housing 15 people, kitchen, living room, two bathrooms and toilets.
You will also find an outbuilding on the site, with a utility room, shower room, and rooms for staff and guidance. In addition to the practice room in the main building, we have a large shed, with a large practice room with tatamis. There is room to sit outside around the buildings, and during warm periods some participants can also camp on the site.
